ANTIQUE OAK 4 DRAWER FILING CABINETS: SET OF 5

BEAUTIFUL QUARTER SAWN OAK, VERY NICE SET

Very attractive, early 1900's set of five 4-drawer quarter-sawn oak filing cabinets with solid brass pulls and label holders. The cabinets are joined together as one unit, but can be used in any combination; single, or in groups. There are two end panels that are custom -made. The five units measure 81.5" wide. Each unit is 51.5" high, 16" wide, 27" deep. The drawer pulls extend 1". The cabinets can be used for both letter size files, and legal size files. For legal size files, there are frame inserts in 16 of the 20 drawers that hold the files lengthwise (See photos). The inserts are available from office furniture suppliers. These cabinets may have been designed for library use. Notice that the backside is beautifully paneled, and can either stand in the middle of the room, or of course, against the wall. Should you want to use them in some configuration other than a set of five, any good woodworker can readily make end panels to match. The end panels are the simplest part of the original construction plan, as they were designed to simply be added on, rather than as an integral part of the construction. These are fine looking cabinets that would look good in home or office. CONDITION: Exterior and interior are nicely cared for and are in excellent condition. The drawers glide nicely and I believe that only the top left drawer squeaks upon opening and could use some lubrication. It is in good working condition and was in light use (second home), until the owners put the house up for sale recently.
