IMPORTANT IVORY & SILVER STEIN W/SEMI PRECIOUS JEWELS

Up for auction is an important German Ivory and Silver Stein. Incrusted with semi precious jewels. Circa 1880. The stones appear to be rubies, white sapphires and pearls. The gem incrusted handle has a mythical hoofed beast holding a cluster of pearls. The top is incrusted with rubies and white sapphires and has another mythical hoofed beast holding a large pearl. The entire base, all the way around is set with white sapphires. The ivory is deeply carved with a wonderful scene with maidens, horses, angles, Neptune and a evil looking beast. The carving on the ivory is exquisite of the highest skill. Without a doubt, museum quality. The piece is not marked. We guarantee it to be silver and ivory. Circa 1880. This exquisite miniature stein is approx. 4 1/8 in. high by 3 1/4 in. wide with handle. The base is 2 1/16 in. across. CONDITION: There are no stones missing. No cracks to the ivory. No lost or damage to any of the silver work. An incredible find.
