Unique, Stunning Opium Bed

This is an Amazing Bed!

My folks "inherited" this bed when they bought their house this past year. The previous owners of the house collected antiques from all over the world but had no room for this bed in their new place. My mom loves it but can't find the right spot for it.

The bed and the small chest (that comes with it are both from China and are circa 1880. There is also an old chair. There are no screws or nails. All the woodowork is connected with wooden pegs and joints. There are a couple areas where wood has broken (very small pieces) I have taken photos. The piece is just beautiful! 

The carving detail is beautiful. There is lots of detail in the front and insides. Some of the work is guilded. This style of bed is known as an Opium Bed or a Wedding Bed. Your choice. Either way it is unique, beautiful and definately a conversation piece!
