I purchased this from a music executive/producer and his "ladyfriend" both of whom were on Jimmy's staff in the late 60's until his death. To the best of my knowledge it was around the spring of 1971 when I got this Master Demo along with Jimmy's guitar strap from the "Isle of White" concert and a wristwatch given to this producer by "Herman's Hermits". "All Along the Watchtower" is about as famous as it gets, the flipside has another cut that I am not familiar with. The other 2 music related items are long lost. Needless to say I knew this was somewhere in my collections and I finally found it last Friday. It is the real thing from an era that I remember well and sometimes wish to forget....ROCK ON!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 16 September 2005 I HAVE RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM SOMEONE THAT MAY KNOW WHAT THIS RECORD IS: "What you have is actually an early pressing of the single (Reprise 0767). All Along The Watchtower was the single and Burning of The Midnight Lamp was the B-side. This 45 single was released in September 1968. The date 8-8-68 is probably the pressing date. Jimi played a concert in Dallas that day. It isn't actually a demo or a master. They didn't use vinyl for masters, they used tape reels. It is probably a test pressing because the date on it is a month before the official release. It is a very rare and desirable item."
