On the first glance, some may find our communications board design to be rather "bland..."  This is intentional.  With this, our very first board, we looked at it from a pure form & function perspective.  We enjoy boards with a lot of "character" as much as anyone.  The fact remains that most ouija boards have many unnecessary distractions and distractions can only hinder the results which a quality board can provide.

With this, our very first board design, we choose to keep it as simple as possible.  This limited editon "communications board" does not have any distracting borders or artwork (aside from the silver protective pentagram).  It is constructed of very stable oak plywood.  The board edges are veneered with solid oak as well.

The boards characters are created using the most simple "block" font available.  The clear finish we choose provides a very high-contrast color scheme, to make it easier to use under "dark" conditions as possible.  This, combined with our super-slick, highly polished surface have created a board which is EXTREMELY easy to use and more "sensitive" than any that have preceded it.

The simple font is recognized by the user, and any "forces" they may encounter with great ease.  A fancy gothic text choice, as pretty as it is, is MUCH HARDER TO RECOGNIZE, and consequently introduces unnecessary distractions, muddying the session...

This is a board of exceptional design.  It is built to last and offers quality and precision never before offered to the public, particulary at such a reasonable cost...  These are the very first we've ever offered and are certain to be highly collectible.  In the near future, we will introduce newer designs, but as far as pure form & function go, we doubt that we'll ever top this model...

"Yes" and "no" have been located closer to the center of the board for ergonomic concerns.  The traditional "hello" and "goodbye" have been replaced with a green colored "+" sign and a red colored "-" sign, international symbols which are subconsciously "understood" by the user much easier than words, particulary words which don't can't been completely seen through the viewing window of the planchette...  Again, this only refines the results that the user experiences...

We have crafted a total of 14 of these, each showing their number in this limited series on both the planchette and board itself.  13 have been made available to the public.  One "artist proof" copy will remain in our collection of psychic appliances...  We've been using and collecting antique ouija boards, planchettes & etc for over 20 years.  The products which we are releasing are the results of many years of planning and designing. 

Each board in this series is based upon a very powerful proportion.  We are the first to offer a ouija board precisely machined to a ratio considered "sacred" by many cultures.  This ratio of length to width is represented by the Greek letter "phi."  It has been called "The Golden Rectangle" by some.  Leonardo DaVinci wrote a book hundreds of years ago discussing the properties of this special number.  He called it "the divine proportion..."

This ratio of length to width repeats itself over and over throughout the universe.  It was used to design the great pyramids in Egypt.  Some claim that this ratio gives the pyramids their curious, energy-focusing properties...

"Phi" is an irrational number, rounded off to approximately 1 : 1.61803...  The ratio can also be expressed as .61803 : 1.  We feel that these proportions make our communications boards intensely powerful...  In the bible, "God" specifies this proportion in both the dimensions of Noah's arc as well as with Moses in describing how to build "The arc of the covenant..."  We see this proportion being harnessed in paintings like "The Mona Lisa" as well as "The Last Supper..." 

We see this special ratio throughout the universe...  We see it in the smallest particles.  It has been implemented in temples such as the Parthanon in Athens, Greece. It is to be found everywhere in nature.  From the "design" of our Milky Way to the structure of our DNA, this magical number is of tremendous importance.  Even our heart cycles quite precisely to this "magic ratio..."  Surely there's something to it...

We are the very first to integrate this powerful ratio into the psychic appliance.  Our ouija boards are constructed very precisely to this special proportion.  The planchettes, both the ones for board use as well as those destined for automatic writing planchettes are also carefully crafted to this special ratio.  You'll have to judge for yourself, but after even a few seconds, the differences between our "ouija board" and all the others which came before it are obvious.

This board is larger than most, measuring approximately 14 3/4" x 23" overall.  It's made from 1/2" thick oak plywood.  Its edges have been veneered with solid oak - another first for ouija boards, we believe.  The bottom is finished with a lovely black felt.  The boards and planchettes in this series have matching brass etchings, identifying their number of the series.

These incredible psychic tools have been given many coatings of "high-tech" clear urethane finish.  They have been properly cured then finally polished to a mirror like finish and waxed with a very advanced system, allowing the planchette to glide with incredible efficiency.  The coating is far more durable than most anything ever before used with a ouija board.  It's dramatically reduced friction makes these boards among the most sensitive ever created...  Truly amazing...

You'll find no unnecessary distractions on the face of our boards.  Aside from the pentagram, traditionally used on many ouija boards as a protective symbol, there are only the icons and characters necessary for "communications..."  Basic form and function...  It's amazing the difference than refinements such as these can produce when integrated into a board of this quality...

The "YES" and "NO" icons have been placed close to each other, in the center of the board.  We feel that this is most ergonomically optimal.  You'll find that the space around the symbols on the board is perfectly matched with the planchettes design.  Far too many previous board designs never took the use into account and resulted in boards where the planchette was prone to "falling off the edge" of the board.

The included planchettes are a work of art in themselves.  They are constructed from solid oak and feature solid oak legs, drilled through the planchette?s body.  Oak has been used for over 10,000 years for "divining purposes..."

Our planchette is of excellent quality and is likely to hold up for significantly longer than lesser planchettes.  The planchettes are ebonized to a brilliant black color.  They feature their own brass etchings, showing which number in the series they are. 

We choose to finish the planchettes with a very traditional finish - pure shellac.  Shellac is one of the oldest finishes in the world.  It has been found to hold up for centuries when treated with modest care.  Even though it's quite an ancient finish, it has properties which make it particularly suitable to products such as our planchettes.
